With five content theatres packed with panels, interviews, presentations and demonstrations across the three days, visitors can expect around 100 sessions and 250 different speakers. With the full programme set to be released in February, we thought we would give you an exclusive preview of some of the trends that we will be covering and the angles in which we will be covering them:

The cost-of-living crisis

Across various sessions and theatres, we will analyse and debate the impact of the cost-of-living crisis on UK food and drink, answering key questions such as: How has the UK food and drink responded? What is the outlook for the coming months? What support is available to businesses? What are trade organisations doing to represent the industry? How has it impacted consumer behaviour? Have any opportunities presented themselves? How can/are retailers demonstrating value to consumers? What can businesses do to stay on top of their costs better?

Sustainability

Sustainability takes many forms, such as plant-based food, energy efficiencies, plastic reduction, packaging and food waste management. Throughout the three days, we will be running a number of sessions tackling sustainability in many ways. We will look at whether the future of food is plant-based, and if we can expect wider legislation surrounding the meat industry. We will discuss food waste and analyse the scale of the problem and the solutions available to businesses. There will be a session focused on energy efficiencies, particularly how retailers can stay on top of rising energy bills. Delivery

Is delivery new? Certainly not! However, since the pandemic growth in delivery has accelerated and the market continues to evolve. From a grocery perspective, we look at whether dark stores are the future or not, alongside the opportunities open to the convenience retail market. There are many retailers that still don’t offer delivery – what are they missing out on? We also take a deep dive into the world of Deliveroo, with an exclusive interview with Founder, Will Shu. From dark kitchens to bricks and mortar, Deliveroo continues to evolve its proposition, find out what’s next.
